Last week Charles Blow said something in his NY Times column that perfectly described the choice our nation is facing and the consequences our decision will have. I post a brief portion of it for all to read, but most especially for people who believe if we can all be nice to one another and get along everything will turn out okay. That kind of thinking is not only naïve, it is dangerous. Evil is real and we are starring it in the face right now. Please share this with everyone you can.
To put it more succinctly, Donald Trump is a lowlife degenerate with the temperament of a 10-year-old and the moral compass of a severely wayward teen.
There is no way to make a vote for him feel like an act of principle or responsibility. You can’t make it right. You can’t say yes to Trump and yes to common decency. Those two things do not together abide.
If you are voting for Trump, you are voting for coarseness, corruption and moral corrosion. Period. And if you are not actively voting against him, you are abetting his attempt to hijack American greatness and sink it with his egotism.
On Election Day, America faces a choice, and it’s not a tough one, but a stark one. It is the difference between tolerance and intolerance. It is the difference between respect and disrespect.
It is the difference between a politician with some flaws and a flaw threatening our politics. Donald Trump is America’s existential threat. On Tuesday, America has an opportunity to defend itself.
Hopefully, enough said.
But it’s ok to lie to the FBI the american people as well to much kool aid you need to cut back some bengazhi
The issue is Trump, period. Hillary Clinton does not pose a threat to our democracy. Trump does. You side with him. I am perfectly willing to take my chances with her!
“…Donald Trump is a lowlife degenerate with the temperament of a 10-year-old and the moral compass of a severely wayward teen”
Not unlike Henry VIII…
Great comparison, Nigel, but let’s hope Trump get gets Henry’s power!
On reflection, Jan, I think I’m not doing justice to Henry. In his prime, he was certainly an eye-catcher, what with his maternal grandfather Edward IV’s good looks. He was also fluent in French, Latin and Greek – as was his daughter Elizabeth. Of all our monarchs, the Tudors (1485-1603) were among the best educated. The least known among them, Edward VI (1547-1553) was an amateur astronomer.
Now, is there anyone who can tell me what Donald Trump is good at, academically?
Nigel, he never learned how to think, only insult, exaggerate, and use the first person singular noun “I.”
I agree wholeheartedly with the assessment of DT given here. What really scares me is what was shown in the focus group segment on 60 Minutes last night wherein people didn’t know who they would vote for and displayed all the pent up anger, frustration, etc that they have with American politics and politicians today. How can this be fixed? Who will fix it? I think there is NO way that DT can fix it.
Let’s hope he doesn’t get a chance to try, Wally. The fact is, he wouldn’t try if given the chance. He will make everything so much worse. I am still clinging to the hope that common sense will prevail over the people who are either deplorable as many of his supporters are or who refuse to think. Guess we’ll see in two days.
Well, now we will live with it. I think America is much sicker than I thought.
I am an “adorable deplorable.” The word on the streets is that an early platform item to achieve is to begin the rebuild of USA infrastructure. It would put people to work rather quickly, because that’s one of the basic reasons the Rust Belt voted Trump–their jobs disappeared. One city of 27,000 had been reduced to nothing with about 7,500 still there, on government handouts. The Democrats want infrastructure done, too, so that sounds quite bi-partisan. Sorry you guys are feeling so badly about your loss. Best regards.
