In this age of hyperbole and propaganda, I am reluctant to say what I am about to say, but the situation is too serious for me not to do so.

We have a President who is too emotionally and mentally unstable to hold his office, throwing nation into an unprecedented constitutional crisis.

Never before has the U.S. had a president who is no longer emotionally and mentally fit to continue in office. In street language, we have a mad president who is growing more and more out of control of himself with every day that passes.

If you think I am exaggerating, here are concrete examples of the 60 plus AI generated memes he posted over Labor Day weekend:

• an image of himself and George Washington dressed alike sitting on horses
• an image of the moon with the words. “The Moon is Ours.”
• an image of his head on the body of the deceased wrestler Hulk Hogan
• an image of him sitting at the Resolute Desk in front of computer screens trading stocks
• an image of himself surrounded by supernatural robotic warriors
• an image of him as the commander of a Space Force blowing up the earth
• image of himself as the Green Lantern
• an image of his picture sitting atop pictures of past presidents with “The Greatest” over his
• an image of his pasting “America” over “Mexico” in the name New Mexico
• an image of Iran in the shape of his own head
• an image of himself smashing Iran with a giant gavel
• an image of the Strait of Hormuz as a new American territory
• image of President Obama looking in a magic mirror and seeing Trump looking back at him
• image of the Titanic with the Democratic Party name on it.
• image of Canada being part of the United States
• perhaps most offensive, an image of Trump with a hockey stick standing over Canadian Premier Mark Carney who is partially lying on a hockey rink ice with the caption, “Get up, Governor.”

If I had posted these and the other 45 memes (some even worse than those I named) this past weekend, I have no doubt my family would be meeting at this moment to discuss what to do to get me some help.

Maybe a teenager might post such things to impress his friends. Trump is an 80-year-old man. More important, he is the President of the United States.

There is nothing that can be said to justify, excuse, or minimize the bizarre tirade he went on. as if it doesn’t matter or don’t matter.

It did happen and it does matter. What is more, for months there have been signs that this day was coming.

His verbal assaults on women journalists…his name calling of former presidents and political opponents…his offensive memes such as the one depicting the Obamas as apes…his vanity projects arising from his lack of self-esteem and reflect a warped view of himself… his goal of writing his own obituary by changing historic records and putting his name on buildings all around the nation’s Capitol.

These have been signs thats should have alerted us to his total breakdown this past weekend. So, too, with his White House ballroom and the grand arch he wants built on the Washington Mall to honor himself modeled after the Arc de Triomphe in Paris built by Napoleon in 1836 (Trump’s arch will be 250 feet high, almost 100 feet higher than Napoleon’s Arch de Triomphe).

These are not things anyone rational and in control of their faculties would do.

The time has come for the American people to face reality. Donald Trump needs an intervention, something families have to do when faced with a family member who is spiraling downward.

The complication factor, of course, is that there is disagreement in the family about what to do.

In fact, some members don’t even believe there is a problem, blinded as they are by their own personal issues, political ambitions, and sheer hatred of Democrats.

Yet, gradual as it is, more and more Americans are seeing that Trump is no longer in control of himself, and that he actually is corrupt and too self-consumed to care about what is actually happening in their lives.

That is critical because there is no one who will save the country from Trump’s emotional and mental decline except ourselves.

The first step begins with removing the Republican controlled Congress that refuses to do anything to limit Trump’s out of control behavior. After two years, the verdict on them is in and it is guilty as charged.

Our hope now lies with Democratic, independent, and non-MAGA Republican voters removing them. This constitutional crisis has raised the stakes of the November midterm elections to the point where defeating Republicans is now an imperative.

Trump having absolute and unfettered control over them means they are allowing the man who sent out the 60 plus strange and disturbing memes last weekend to do whatever he wants to.

The current Republican Congress shares responsibility with Trump for the nation being at risk in just about every way possible, from food safety to declining vaccine protections to environmental regulations to financial stability to being engaged in an endless war Trump started.

They have supported Trump in every way they could, including confirming every member of his Cabinet member who have already proven to be hapless, incompetent, and driven by the sole desire to please Trump.

There is not one thing Trump has done that has helped the nation, and there is not one thing Republicans have done to counter him.

But here’s the really bad news. Trump’s state of being will only get worse from here on.

Imagine what Trump will say and do over the next two years if he continues to have a Republican controlled Congress. Last weekend is all the proof we need that we cannot take that risk.

It is up to us to initiate the beginning of the end to Trump’s presidency in November, not only with a Democratic majority, but a super-majority that will have the power to do whatever it takes to save ourselves from an emotionally and mentally impaired Trump.

The future of our nation, and quite possibly the world, is at stake. Anyone who thinks what I am saying is an overstatement is not paying attention.

The task of stopping Trump is daunting, especially if we are forced to do what has never been done before, removing a president because he is emotionally and mentally unable to carry out his duties.

These are, indeed, as many people are saying, unprecedented times that require unprecedented actions.
