On this Earth Day, 2021, I am grateful that we have a President who wants our country to partner with others to do something about the climate crisis we, the people, have created.
I am also grateful to former Wisconsin Democratic Senator Gaylord Nelson who founded Earth Day in 1970 in the hope that we would not reach the crisis point we now face.
As a Baby Boomer I also want to apologize to all younger generations for ignoring the Senator’s wisdom because of our short-sightedness, greed, and selfishness. We owed you more than that and should have done better. I am sorry for not doing more myself to conserve and preserve, but promise to work with you so every nation will do what Greta Thunberg of your generation asks them to do, “to treat this crisis as a crisis.”
this is a great post and I also think we have let the next generation down, but we are trying to make up for lost time and wit luck and a few brave leaders we may help heal our world
