As a follow-up to my last blog, Magana Ortiz lost his appeal to stay in the US and voluntarily left his wife and two children to return to Mexico. Tragic day for him. Sad commentary on the state of our nation.

I loved writing every word you will read in these pages and take great satisfaction in being able to share this family saga with you. Despite the twists and turns, ups and downs weaving through every chapter, from beginning to end I had one simple goal, to tell a story that holds your attention and when you are finished makes you feel like the time it took to read it was worth every minute. Sad’s the appropriate word, Jan. In Britain earlier this year, we had a similar case of a mother deported away from her home and family to some African country she’d barely known, and whose language she couldn’t speak or write.
Such are the times we live in…
Nigel, Dickens might say these are “the worst of times” and leave off the rest.
There really is no printable word to describe this other than SAD….
But you and I both have several other words in mind, Bill. Frankly, nothing about this administration can be honestly described in printable language.
