A few thoughts about the shooting death of Renee Nicole Good here in Minneapolis.
The news media is being its usual irresponsible self in how it is presenting what happened, as if there are two sides to the story. There isn’t, and the video proves it. The agent stepped in front of her vehicle on the driver’s side, her tires were turned away from him, he shot once on the edge of the driver’s front window and twice through the side window where he was standing as she passed him. He had plenty of time to get out of the way and no reason whatsoever to use his gun. .
He is responsible not simply for the shooting, but for each shot he fired. According to policing protocol, each has to be justified separately, not together.
Trump and Noem lied about what happened before receiving any information of the exact details. Trump even claimed the agent was hit, hospitalized, and lucky to be alive. That was a bald face lie, period.
This tragedy happened because of the larger issue of Trump’s “mass deportation” that has created a Gestapo type secret police force with agents wearing masks to conceal their identity and to intimidate. This is as un-American as it gets.
The Americans who voted for Trump and those who still support him together bear responsibility for the police state environment Trump has created. How any of them can justify what they have done is beyond reason or understanding. They ought to be ashamed and will bear the shame of what they have done when the history of this time is written. I just hope their grandchildren and great grandchildren know they were responsible for the Trump presidency.
Trump is a liar, a liar, a liar, a liar, and that is all anyone needs to know about the kind of president he is.
It is time for Americans to begin demanding that he resign. Impeachment and conviction are the last resort, but the pressing need is for him to be gone now. Pollsters need to start asking the question, “Do you think Donald Trump should resign?”
We should also take to the streets against Trump and to send an unequivocal message to Republicans that in the mid-term elections they will be held responsible for his presidency because of their failure to hold him accountable for his actions.
All that said, though, the biggest takeaway from what happened here in Minneapolis is that a woman has been killed. She is dead, gone forever. Nothing can bring her back. She can and should be remembered, but not even the best intended effort to redeem her death should minimize the harsh reality that she is now dead. The permanency of death is something we often want to ignore, but it is real and nothing can ever change its impact.

I think it is incredibly sad that this 37 year old mother was killed by an out of control thug. trump and his idiot DHS Sec have promoted a false narrative even before the woman’s body was removed from her car, and they have yet to say any word of regret, or sympathy for her death. The mayor of MSP said it best, get the f*ck out of our city. They should take that advice.
Incredibly sad is one of responses I felt. That turned to anger toward ICE and currently rage against my government. What a f#ckin’ mess.
anger is a understatment for me, ICE is today’s gestpo, and my hope if we last that long, the Dems will defund them in the next Congress, I also hope to see them tried for crimes against humanity
Well said, Jan.
Thanks, Charlie.
