Yes, Jan, two great victories for justice in just one week with the two supreme court rulings on ACA and marriage equality. The “arc of history” does seem to bend toward justice ever so slowly. Jane Asche
Remarkable! Can it be that a bit of sanity and caring is converging to renew our common life? The vision tarried and we waited for it. If it is beginning to claim us in ways that look like today, the wait has been worth it! God does of course have a gracious sense of humor, and an abiding engagement with us that even the Republicans cannot cancel. (Politics as you know is always religious, for good or ill.) Thanks! Penny
Yes, it was a good week in Lake Wobegone, but not a quiet week, as Garrison would say. I was pleased with both SC decisions. President Obama’s eloquent eulogy for Rev Pinckney was awesome.
My new book is now available at all booksellers, including Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
For too long Christianity has insisted skepticism is an enemy of faith when it is a vital tool for a healthy, mature faith. It is also essential because of the way the human brain works, as I explain in the book. This is not a book promoting doubt. Just the opposite. It is a book that makes the case for a reasoned, thoughtful, and reliable faith precisely because it embraces the kind of questions a skeptical mind asks in the pursuit of truth.

Thanks, Jane. Once in a while we do get to see that arc.

Amen to that, Penny, especially your parenthetical comment!
